The Team:

Kate Carrick-Buchanan set up Absolute PR in 2000.  She has spent 15 years in the PR industry, having worked for leading agencies in London and Edinburgh.

Kate has a proven track record in business to business, consumer and corporate PR, having worked across a broad range of sectors: financial services, agriculture, property, travel & tourism, technology and food & drink. Current and previous clients include: Clydesdale Bank, Glamis Castle, Ogilvie Group, The Scotsman Hotel, Escape Health Club & Cowshed Spa, Dundas Castle, Quality Street Residential Investments, Wigtown Book Festival, Scottish Wind Assessment Project and the Scottish Museums Council. 

Before setting up Absolute PR, Kate was an account director at Weber Shandwick’s Edinburgh office. Her previous clients have included Bank of Scotland, Sykes International, Grampian Country Food Group, Scottish & Newcastle International, EICC, One-2-One, The Carphone Warehouse, The Prince’s Trust – Scotland, Gore-tex and National Association of Hospice Fundraisers. 

Kate has an M.A. (Hons) from Edinburgh University and is an associate of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations.

Angus Carrick-Buchanan joined Absolute PR in 2001.

Angus’ current and previous clients include: Clydesdale Bank, Sundial Properties, Ogilvie Group, Wigtown Book Festival, Quality Street Residential Investments, Savills, Scottish Wind Assessment Project and the Scottish Museums Council. Working across a range of sectors including agriculture, property, automotive and tourism, his areas of specialism include business to business, corporate communications, MBOs, crisis management, maximising sponsorship campaigns and general media relations.

He has extensive experience as a media ops officer for his Territorial Yeomanry Regiment, managing both the press and advertising agencies.

Prior to joining Absolute PR Angus has five years' experience in the property industry specialising in project management.

Angus has an MA in History from Glasgow University and a BSc from Heriot-Watt University.

Kerry Teakle has spent 12 years in the PR industry having joined Absolute PR from Scottish Courage Ltd where she was PR manager – marketing.

Responsible for the company’s portfolio of drinks brands, Kerry was responsible for the formulation and implementation of integrated PR and marketing campaigns including an arts sponsorship programme for Beck’s. Crisis management also played a key part of her remit, and following the events of 9/11, she minimised the potentially damaging coverage of the Miller Jet USA promotion both internally and externally.

Prior to Scottish Courage, she held a number of positions at the Bass Group from Brands PR Manager for Bass Brewers to PR and Communications Manager for Gala Clubs.

In addition to a degree in Drama BA (Hons) from Loughborough University, Kerry has both a CAM Diploma and Certificate in public relations.
